I’ll start my home tour for you guys later this week. Until then, I figure I let you know of my favorite home design blogs!
Way before going house hunting, I always looked for inspiration for home decor, design, renovations, and the like. My love for HGTV started in high school – I could watch it all day all summer long when there were more shows on design rather than real estate. Now that I’m on a computer all day instead of at home on a couch watching TV (ah the glory days), I go to blogs to get my fix! Here are a few of my favorite blogs:
What: Jenna Sue Design Blog
Who: Jenna is graphic designer/business owner, creating custom prints via Jenna Sue Design.
Why: Jenna’s blog is probably my favorite of the bunch. For one, she’s not an interior designer, but as an experienced DIYer, offers a different perspective. What I love most about her blog are that she gives detail source lists and budget breakdowns in all her projects.

What: 6th Street Design School
Who: Kirsten is one half of House Of Jade Interiors.
Why: The blog features Kirsten’s suggestions on affordable furnishings, House Of Jade Interiors work, and home tours. I love how House Of Jade Interiors beautifully and smartly intertwines affordable and splurge elements into their projects. This living room is one of my main sources of inspiration for my own living spaces. Kirsten also uses the font I’m currently using on my logo in her blog, so I mean, that alone is a big plus!

What: Studio McGee Blog
Who: Syd and Shea McGee own Studio McGee, a home design company.
Why: Their work is near impeccable and I just love how the photos on their blog are huge (they take up the majority of the browser’s window size. All the images of their work make me so full of delight, or dare I say, full of gracious delights! They moved to Utah from SoCal, but do projects back and forth, and FYI, offer e-design services.
What: Smitten Studio
Who: Sarah is a freelance designer, stylist, and creative director. She also owns a shop called A Sunny Afternoon.
Why: Sarah surely knows how to design a beautiful kitchen and bathroom! Her kitchen is my main source of inspiration for my own dream kitchen. I mean, I knew I had to have brass and/or gold detailing in my dream kitchen and around my home thanks to her!
Do you love home decor blogs too? What are some of your faves and why? Let me know because I’m always in search of more inspiration!
