I love the holiday season! I mean really, who doesn’t right? On Friday evening, we went Christmas tree shopping. Our local Costco has eight-footers for $45, but you can’t unravel the trees to see what they look like. We gauged by the height and thickness and my dad opted for a wider tree. They also don’t trim the tree like they would in Home Depot or other Christmas tree lots, but it’s a significant amount cheaper. On Saturday, we spent the whole day decorating the tree and the house. It took us a while to decorate the tree since my brother, who was sitting on the table, working from home, kept telling me he wanted more lights. Nonetheless, we finished:
You may notice the tree is wider on the right side, but who wants a perfect tree anyway?
Then, we had a late impromptu dinner with our friends Rob and Nancy at Sea and Smoke. We were supposed to go to Cucina Enoteca in Delmar, but Rob pointed out the other restaurant in the same complex. He thought about bringing Nancy there for birthday dinner, so we ended up going there instead. The food was delish, the service was great, and the atmosphere was amazing! I’d love my dream house to be designed the same way as the restaurant. We headed to the lounge and bar area after dinner. It’s the perfect spot for happy hour and if I knew about it earlier, it would be a contender in Kristiana’s and my birthday celebration. Justin and I will definitely go back!
On Sunday, I attended the Chargers game with Justin. They easily won! It feels extra good when they beat Eli Manning and the Giants. Thanks to my cousins Ryan and Rowena for inviting us to join you for brunch at Urge then to head to the game together, and shout out to my friend Omid for selling me his tickets!
I ended the night with dinner at Phil’s BBQ with family and visiting relatives in San Marcos (never a long wait), then watching Bonnie and Clyde. I ate out too many times this weekend so I’ll ensure I make up for it this week. I hope everyone had a wonderful first weekend of December too!
