I went to Colorado Springs this past Labor Day weekend for my cousin’s wedding. It was my first visit to the state. My family members from San Diego, my husband, and I flew to Denver, rented cars, and drove to the Springs on Friday. While some headed to the wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, the rest of us spent the evening in downtown.
My husband Justin and I checked in at the historic Antlers Hilton. We then headed to Phantom Canyon Brewery and walked around the small downtown area. We met up with my sister Marj and her boyfriend Tony at Brewer’s Republic. I love how a lot of the bars and restaurants have rooftop lounges. You get beautiful views of the mountains! We went back to Phantom Canyon for games of pool and dinner with cousins from San Diego. The chicken and waffles don’t compare to Roscoe’s but really good nonetheless!
Day Two was the wedding, which I’ll write about in the next post. On Sunday, we played tourists, heading to Cave Of The Winds. We took the Discovery Tour. It was a pretty busy day so the tour took longer than the estimated forty-five minutes. I would definitely recommend it for first-timers!
After the tour, we carpooled through Garden Of The Gods. It started to pour pretty hard so we didn’t get out of the car to take photos. These are the best shots I got!
We spent the rest of the night at the newlyweds’ house for some quality time with the family.
