Christmas Eve Dinner Table

It’s been Christmas Eve tradition for my family to have a nice sit-down dinner.  We would go to mass, take photos by the tree, then have a nice dinner where my mom can bust out her China (one of twice a year).  For the past couple years, I’ve been celebrating Christmas Eve in the bay area with Justin’s family so I wanted to sort of go all out, knowing I’d be in town this year!

If you follow me on Pinterest or Instagram, you may know I fell in love with the Smith and Hawken Shimmer Curled Wood Collection from Target:

I searched three different Target’s to find the whole collection!  I used the flower boxes as centerpieces.  I also purchased snowflake place card holders and green “Joy” cloth napkins.

It’s also been a tradition to give everyone a Christmas cracker to open after dinner.  I purchased crackers at Bed, Bath, and Beyond (with a coupon, of course!).  They’re actually pretty hard to find for a decent price and with decent goodies inside!  Luckily, these crackers had paper hats for good photo ops!

2013 Christmas Eve Dinner

After dinner, we usually play board games or nap while waiting for midnight to open gifts!  How do you celebrate Christmas Eve?  Do you decorate your table for sit-down dinners too?
